Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail is hosting the unique gameshow event ‘Beat the Banker’, in association with Lee Gooch Promotions, in the Redcastle Hotel on Saturday 22nd February at 8pm. The Gaelscoil is raising funds to help with the school’s relocation to the old St Joseph’s Boys’ school in Moville in 2014. The Irish medium primary school was set up over 12 years ago by local parents.
Lee Gooch, the popular Highland Radio presenter, developed “Beat the Banker” to deliver an exhilarating game show experience and a great night’s entertainment. ‘Beat the Banker’ gives five people a chance to win up to €1,000 in a game that will test the nerves of the coolest contestant. The format is simple – buy a ticket for €10 and on the night, tickets are drawn to determine who plays for up to €1,000 in cash.
The “Beat the Banker” experience comes with a professionally designed TV-style production set, Lee Gooch as host and ‘Patricia’ the comedian who ensures the audience enjoys a total entertainment package. Complete with full screenplay and audio-visual effects, the atmosphere is guaranteed. The only question is which contestant will be brave enough to ignore the banker and hold out for the jackpot?
“This is the first time since we founded the school that Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail has undertaken a major fundraising.” said Grainne Nic Robhartaigh, school Principal. “The funds will be used to help refurbish the former Boys’ school in Moville. This will be a big benefit to the local area, not just the Gaelscoil”
A number of main sponsors have come on board to support the Gaelscoil event: Ace Catering, Aviva Healthcare, Dedalus Architects, Holmes Coaches, Moville Group Practice and Canny & Doherty’s Centra Supermarket and Forecourt Moville and Supervalu Supermarket, Carndonagh. 110 local businesses are sponsoring Box Ads which will pop up during each of the 5 games while E. Gillen & Sons Ltd Supermarket, Moville will sponsor each of the games.
“Beat the Banker” will take place on Saturday 22 February at 8.00pm in the Redcastle Hotel, Moville. Tickets cost €10 and are available from Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail, the Redcastle Hotel Reception or Committee Members: Amanda Leech, Adelle Kearney, Caroline O’Sullivan, Mary Boyle, Breedge Reynolds, Caroline Maguire, Tina Gormley and Breda McGroaty. For more information about the event, please contact Mairéad, School Secretary on 074 9385762 or Annmarie Doherty on 0866041910.
As part of our ongoing fundraising events the Parents Committee run a lotto called “Bonus Ball”. Our current lotto was won recently by Trish Hegarty. Trish and the Parents Committee received €1500.
This lotto is run as follows – Each player chooses 7 numbers between 1-45 inclusive, which are marked off against the ‘Bonus Ball’ from the main lotto draw on Saturday night. The jackpot is won when all 7 numbers are marked.
The next round of this lotto will begin shortly. To date the lotto has raised a substantial amount of money for school funds, with the same amount given out in prize money, so I’m sure you will appreciate that this is a very simple and worthwhile fundraiser and I urge all parents to support it so as to ensure continued success. Cost is €2 per week payable in blocks of €10. All players are also entered for a weekly draw of €10. Please find enclosed rules and number grid. Return completed grid with chosen numbers to the school with first payment a.s.a.p.

Regards and good luck!

Cosúil le gach scoil eile i nDún na nGall bhí fiabhras “Sam Maguire” i nGaelscoil Cois Feabhail. Chuir muid fáilte ollmhór roimh Corn Sam Maguire, cúpla de na himreoirí agus bhí Corn Uladh leo freisin.. Sular shroich Sam an scoil bhí cuid mhór rudaí ag dul ar aghaidh againn. Chaith muid dathanna Dhún na nGall go bródúil agus ghlac gach páiste sa scoil páirt i dTráth na gCeist. Bhí na ceisteanna uilig bunaithe ar Fhoireann Dhún na nGall agus an CLG.
