Infants and First Class -Insects and Animals.

There was plenty of  “rírá and ruaille buaille” in our classroom over the past few weeks.  We did an investigation on soil and we found: beetles, centipedes, ants, worms, snails and caterpillars.

We also had a visit from some turtles, tadpoles and a hamster. We gave them a very warm welcome.

“BEAT THE BANKER” IN FEBRUARY 2014

Beat-the-Banker-posterGaelscoil Cois Feabhail is hosting the unique gameshow event ‘Beat the Banker’, in association with Lee Gooch Promotions, in the Redcastle Hotel on Saturday 22nd February at 8pm. The Gaelscoil is raising funds to help with the school’s relocation to the old St Joseph’s Boys’ school in Moville in 2014. The Irish medium primary school was set up over 12 years ago by local parents.

Lee Gooch, the popular Highland Radio presenter, developed “Beat the Banker” to deliver an exhilarating game show experience and a great night’s entertainment. ‘Beat the Banker’ gives five people a chance to win up to €1,000 in a game that will test the nerves of the coolest contestant. The format is simple – buy a ticket for €10 and on the night, tickets are drawn to determine who plays for up to €1,000 in cash.

The “Beat the Banker” experience comes with a professionally designed TV-style production set, Lee Gooch as host and ‘Patricia’ the comedian who ensures the audience enjoys a total entertainment package. Complete with full screenplay and audio-visual effects, the atmosphere is guaranteed. The only question is which contestant will be brave enough to ignore the banker and hold out for the jackpot?

“This is the first time since we founded the school that Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail has undertaken a major fundraising.” said Grainne Nic Robhartaigh, school Principal. “The funds will be used to help refurbish the former Boys’ school in Moville. This will be a big benefit to the local area, not just the Gaelscoil”

A number of main sponsors have come on board to support the Gaelscoil event: Ace Catering, Aviva Healthcare, Dedalus Architects, Holmes Coaches, Moville Group Practice and Canny & Doherty’s Centra Supermarket and Forecourt Moville and Supervalu Supermarket, Carndonagh. 110 local businesses are sponsoring Box Ads which will pop up during each of the 5 games while E. Gillen & Sons Ltd Supermarket, Moville will sponsor each of the games.

“Beat the Banker” will take place on Saturday 22 February at 8.00pm in the Redcastle Hotel, Moville. Tickets cost €10 and are available from Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail, the Redcastle Hotel Reception or Committee Members: Amanda Leech, Adelle Kearney, Caroline O’Sullivan, Mary Boyle, Breedge Reynolds, Caroline Maguire, Tina Gormley and Breda McGroaty. For more information about the event, please contact Mairéad, School Secretary on 074 9385762 or Annmarie Doherty on 0866041910.
