Open Evening

Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail Open/Information Evening –
Thursday, 7th March 2013 6.30pm
Carn na Garve, mBun an Phobail, Co. Dhun na Gall

Any parent with a child due to start school in September is welcome to come along. View our fantastic school, ask questions, talk to teachers, meet other parents and generally get a feel for the school and learn the benefits for your child. Take your little one along so they can see it for themselves.

Practical Maths

Children in 2nd and 3rd Class explore the concepts of time, frequency, speed and pace by working together in small groups. They use stop watches and record the results.

Meeting

Coiste na dTuisti are holding a meeting tonight, Wednesday, February 27th, in the school at 8pm. New ideas and inspitation needed. All welcome!

Battle of the books

Congratulations to all the children in 4th, 5th and 6th class who took part in the first round of “Battle of the books” which took place in February.
A special congratulations to Niamh Ní Fhearáin, Aoife Ní Fhearáin, Eoin Ó Dochartaigh agus Finn Mac Lochlainn who will be taking part in the next battle in March. Well done!!

The books being read for this battle are:
A winter of spies by Gerard Whelan and
Four Kids, 3 Cats, Two Cows and One Witch (Maybe) by Síobhán Parkinson. Good luck!!

Pancake Tuesday

Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail had lots of eggs, flour, milk, sugar and golden syrup on Pancake Tuesday.
We were cooking and eating all afternoon. YUM!! YUM!!

St Brigid Crosses

The school had a Saint Brigid’s Cross workshop on Saint Brigid’s day. Grandparents and parents came along to show the art of making the crosses. The children, teachers and the visitors really enjoyed the afternoon.

Christmas

Christmas show and Santa at Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail

The children entertained the audience with poem, music and song and the evening ended with the school choir. Santa made a quick visit to the school before starting preparations for Christmas Eve.
